Want to Know the Market and Trends? Go to a Bookstore (Ecohoon)

I occasionally visit bookstores. Sometimes to buy books, other times just to browse.

It's common knowledge that people don't read as much as they used to. Even I, with ambitious plans to read more a year ago, still haven't finished all the books I bought.

However, books remain a vital part of our lives. That's why so many experts and authors continue to write them. While we get information online, books offer a wealth of valuable knowledge. Plus, reading allows for reflection and contemplation.

I gauge trends and sense the market situation at bookstores. They have a separate bestseller section; I believe this is to sell more of the already popular books. By checking the bestsellers, new releases, and various category sections, you can quickly understand current trends and popular technologies.

I visited a bookstore yesterday, and as expected, AI-related books occupied more than half of the economics, business, and technology sections. There were also books about Trump's second term, Elon Musk's autobiography, and, given it's January 2025, plenty of books on 2025 trends.

Even if I don't buy every book I see, I can get a sense of the global currents. Don't distance yourself too much from books, even if you don't read them frequently.
