When meeting with clients, they all say things like this: “The executives don't want to spend money on translation. They say that since AI has developed so much, can't we just use AI for translation?”
That’s possible. It's true that AI translators have improved a lot. However, they don't cover a lot of things. We still need the touch of a translator because we don't know what intention we have for translation.
For example, there might be cases like this when writing a sentence.
Example)
The core of this project is to proceed quickly and flexibly by applying "Agile Methodology".
Here, I want to leave "Agile Methodology" as it is, in English. But the translator doesn't know this and translates it as “애자일 방법론”. If there is a large amount of content that I want to translate, and there are many such contexts, wouldn't it be inconvenient to use AI translation?
You may feel that the cost of borrowing the hands of a human translator is a waste. However, on the internet, writing and design are the core of branding. If the writing is not done properly or not translated properly, consumers may feel unpleasant. Minor discomfort can create great inconvenience.
